Our Essington, Pennsylvania client has a full time opportunity for a Technical Assistant who is responsible for hands-on technical and administrative support for engineering department priorities including technical writing.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, quality and management to provide timely status of work products and / or problem identification and resolution.
  • Work with Chief Technology Officer on development of the Weekly Engineering Work Plan – an allocation of staff resources across current projects including verification of overtime requirements.
  • Develop, track and maintain Engineering Schedule including contract deliverables
  • Assists with bid packages for aircraft parts, machinery, equipment, tooling, raw material, packaging materials, services, and/or supplies Purchasing Agent utilize in making procurements.
  • Support Project Managers with Project Planning; follow up including development of initial MS Project Schedules, CDRL tracking, formatting and submitting.
  • Load technical files with incoming information/data.
  • Process Quality Control forms; perform functions to achieve AS9100 compliance and liaison with client quality departments.
  • Support the development and formatting of proposals, subcontractor RFPs, SOWs, NDAs, reports, and other documents.
  • Managing all aspects of the engineering plans to include numbering, distributing, uploading, archiving, researching plans, and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Act as a liaison relaying information and documents between multiple departments.

 

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Computer skills (MS OFFICE:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project, Outlook, Explorer)
  • Requires the ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
  • Requires high-level skills in the performance of administrative support and operational functions.
  • Requires considerable ability to adhere to prescribed procedures in support of AS9100 compliance.
  • Compose effective and accurate correspondence and deal with non-routine matters such as special projects, proposals and presentations with minimum specific instructions.
  • Dependability – follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting executive management in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment
