Our client in Nashville, TN is seeking a BI Developer to support the enterprise by providing current, historical, and predictive information of business operations. The role will migrate approximately 200 existing reports to PowerBI infrastructure. Team consists of 9 members – BI Dev, BI Analyst, EDI Dev, SQL Dev and 5 SW Engineers.

Responsibilities:

Unify reports onto one platform for the enterprise
Migrate approximately 400 reports from two older instances of SSRS 2008 to SSRS 2019
Assess each report and consolidate information where necessary
Design, create, and maintain reports and dashboards using PowerBI platform
Support data requests from the business, customers, and vendors
Design or modify custom SQL scripts, ETL jobs, and Stored Procedures on SQL Server
Troubleshoot issues related to production reports and data services to provide appropriate solutions
Perform tuning of database queries, stored procedures, stored functions, schema changes
Migrating existing databases to our PAAS in Azure
Create documentation for future reference, training, and support purposes

Required Skills and Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence development within an enterprise level production environment
Extensive experience with SQL and SQL tools (e.g. SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
Advanced SQL development experience (e.g. table creation, triggers, stored procedures, …etc)
At least 2 years of experience designing, creating, and maintaining dashboards, reports, and other data visualization with PowerBI
Ability to receive and synthesize IT requests from end users
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams across the organization

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with Azure infrastructure (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL…etc)
Experience migrating reports from legacy tool to PowerBI
Scripting language experience
SQL database administration experience (e.g. table restore/back up, index…etc.)
