Our Washington client has a remote contract opportunity for a Middleware Engineer.
  
JOB DESCRIPTION:

• The client Production & Business Solutions (PBS) IT unit is encountering operational problems with a Linux/Wildfly-based application called DOTS.
• Wildfly routinely gets stuck, causing workflow queue backups on our Linux servers.
• PBS is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable middleware expert, esp. with Wildfly/JBOSS, to assist in the identification of the source defect and in the proposal and delivery of a solution.

  
Responsibilities:

• Learn the client Pubs DOTS application environment and current implementation of middleware, specifically Wildfly/JBOSS
• Meet with the DOTS team and review/understand operational problems occurring in the DOTS environment
• Assist with root cause analysis and replication of the operational defects
• Identity and propose solutions
• Review proposed solutions with Architecture team
• Assist in the development and implementation of approved solutions.

  
Requirements:

• Education and/or significant experience with Software Engineering/Development
• Significant experience with Wildfly/JBOSS and Linux
