Job Description
The primary purpose of the IT Support Specialist is to support all employees and contractors at the location and manage the full life cycle of IT/OT assets in both business and process networking environments. The incumbent must communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of people. This communication occurs face to face, over the phone, remote access, Teams and in writing.
Onsite in Lafayette, Indiana.
In this role, you will:
- Provide IT / OT deskside support to all employees at the plant in Lafayette, IN and other remote sites
- Provide White Glove IT services to all company executives at the plant in Lafayette, IN and other remote sites
- Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating system (Windows 10, 11), network, mobile devices and software across a range of business and OT applications
- Operate with IS standards and conventions and applicable BU/RU IT Standards
- Stage, configure, and deliver IT assets (e.g. personal computers and mobile phones)
- Manage the inventory of IT assets for the site(s)
- Use logic and reasoning to research and resolve technical issues and know what to do next and/or when to escalate for help
- Support all IT systems at the location
- Work across a global IT support team to share information and best practices
You have: (required)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent from an accredited organization
- Previous IT experience performing the required duties
- Must be able to deliver outstanding customer service to user base with a wide range of IT skill levels for all areas of the organization
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited organization
- 2 years previous IT support experience
Also note:
- Requires the ability to walk, bend and stand for periods of time required to perform labor-related duties. This position requires frequent visits to the shop floor environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when moving equipment.
