An experienced Power BI Developer is needed for a contract opening. The primary responsibility of the role will be to develop Power BI solutions that convert existing business data and reports into actionable insights. Additionally, Power BI Developer responsibilities will include developing visualization reports, dashboards, creating data models and ensuring their performance.

• The manager expects the hours to be closer to 12-20 per week at least to start.
• The person can be remote as long as they are able to join meetings between 8am-3pm Central when they are necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a BI Developer
• Our ideal candidate is someone who is proficient in using the Power BI tool, has a good understanding of data analysis, and is capable of consolidating data into meaningful business insights.
• Industry experience is preferred
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g., reporting tools, dashboards)
• Create tools to store data if necessary
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
• Develop and update technical documentation
