Job Description

A contractor is needed in Columbus, Ohio for the role of IT Test Analyst as part of the QA team. This position is part of a high performing quality assurance team participating in the delivery of quality software. The team works cross functional in an onshore/offshore model to support the testing activities. The position reports administratively to a QA Manager. 

  • Need to be in office for 3-5 days a week.

    • Design and execution of test cases

    • POS and or web testing experience
    • Understanding of different testing types like sprint test, smoke test, regression, end to end, integration etc.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Can clearly communicate test finding

 

Responsibilities: 

  • This role is responsible for test preparation and test execution activities on projects. This role requires oversight from test lead and QA manager and will partner and collaborate with application teams.  
  • Participates in functional and technical design reviews to ensure understanding of relevant business processes, technologies, and architectures. 
  • Creates or modifies test scenarios and test cases that are in alignment with functional requirements. 
  • Ensures appropriate test data is defined and available in the test environment 
  • Executes and statuses test cases, including proof of testing. 
  • Clearly document defects, and retests fixes in a timely manner in required test management tool. 
  • Effectively communication progress and status to test lead/manager. 
  • Deliver quality work to meet the needs of application teams and business partners 
  • Work in a collaborative project environment with cross-functional teams. 
  • Assists in driving issues to closure. 
  • Complete assignments on time in accordance with the priorities identified by the test lead. 

 

Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Retail experience preferred. 
  • Experience testing inventory management systems including all inbound and outbound interfaces.
  • Experience working on OMS preferred.
  • Experience testing Manhattan Active Omni a plus.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile). 
  • Experience working on projects with multiple teams and resources. 
  • Experience working in an onshore/offshore model. 
  • Experience with HP ALM, JIRA, or other test and defect management tools. 
  • Organizational and planning skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate. 
  • Proactive participation in team environment. 
  • Strong documentation and communication skills. 
  • Takes pride in delivering quality work to meet the needs of clients and customers.
