The POS Test Analyst role will be part of the QA Team. This position is part of a high performing quality assurance team participating in the delivery of quality software. The team works cross functional in an onshore/offshore model to support the testing activities. The position reports administratively to a QA Manager. This role is responsible for test preparation and test execution activities on projects. This role requires oversight from test lead and QA manager and will partner and collaborate with application teams.

Testing Skills:
- Design and execution of test cases and bug tracking.
- Hands on experience testing POS system, preferably JMC POS especially on sales, returns, buy online pick up in store, integrations with promotions, coupons, Finance, Fraud checks etc.
- Understanding of different testing types like sprint test, smoke test, regression, end to end, integration etc.
Soft Skills:
- Team player
- Can adapt well to changes in project.
- Can clearly communicate test findings.
Responsibilities:
- During Test Prep: Test Analyst will be writing test cases assigned by Test lead. They will be part of regular meetings with Test Lead to get any open questions answered or to review test cases that the test analyst has completed. Based on the feedback from Test Lead, the Test Analyst will revise and update the test cases
- During Test Execution – Execute test cases assigned for the day. Update test case status in the test management tool and open defects found during testing. Attend daily defect triage call. Collaborate with developers on defects and clarify any questions that they might have regarding the open defects
- Participates in functional and technical design reviews to ensure understanding of relevant business processes, technologies, and architectures.
- Creates or modifies test scenarios and test cases that are in alignment with functional requirements.
- Ensures appropriate test data is defined and available in the test environment
- Executes and statuses test cases, including proof of testing.
- Clearly document defects, and retests fixes in a timely manner in required test management tool.
- Effectively communication progress and status to test lead/manager.
- Deliver quality work to meet the needs of application teams and business partners.
- Work in a collaborative project environment with cross-functional teams.
- Assists in driving issues to closure.
- Complete assignments on time in accordance with the priorities identified by the test lead.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Retail experience a must.
- Hands‑on experience testing POS transactions and retail workflows.
- Designed and executed test scenarios for sales, returns, exchanges, refunds, promotions, discounts, tax calculations, and tender types (cash, credit/debit, gift cards).
- Validated POS integrations with upstream and downstream systems such as OMS, inventory, pricing, promotions, loyalty and payment processing.
- Knowledge of retail business processes (sales, return, promotions, inventory availability).
- Ability to validate tables using SQL queries.
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
- Experience working on projects with multiple teams and resources.
- Experience working in an onshore/offshore model.
- Experience with HP ALM, JIRA, or other test and defect management tools.
- Organizational and planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate.
- Proactive participation in team environment.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Takes pride in delivering quality work to meet the needs of clients and customers.
