Our Columbus, OH client has a remote opportunity for a Business Analyst who will play a key role by being responsible for gathering business requirements, analyzing workflow and business processes, and writing functional specifications, user stories, and test plans.
Must Haves for this role:
- This person will be working with the TPM team and the engineering team.
- We are looking for the the candidate who has prior experience in working with multiple stakeholders.
- Candidate will maintain and refine the backlog with engineers, ensuring JIRA tickets are properly labeled and organized.
- Can run the scrum ceremonies.
- Has hands on experience in the Agile methodologies.
- Can help in running the reports and gathering information from the ongoing project team and delivery it to the stakeholders.
- Should have a good communication and who can work proactively with the cross functional teams.
- Hands on experience in writing/creating/narrating the story.
- Background with the Tech/ Education industry would be a great fit.
- Should have very good knowledge of API’s.
- This position is Onshore.
- Cloud PC is available.
- EST hours are preferred.
Job Description:
- The Business Analyst (BA) is a results-oriented, highly organized individual with a talent for breaking down high level customer problems and opportunities into discrete actionable pieces of value.
- The BA has a passion and capability for contributing to the development of world-class online learning solutions – delivered on-time and on-quality. The BA is a self-directed team member with demonstrated leadership potential to effectively work across multiple teams, products, and/or platforms.
- As part of our Technical Product Management (TPM) team, you will enable the agile teams you work with to build engaging products. to address the needs of K-12 teachers and students.
- The Business Analyst will play a key role in understanding the problems our teachers and students face every day, building that empathy within the teams you work, and managing the team’s backlog as they work to solve those problems.
- You’ll articulate requirements, analyzing workflow and processes, write user stories and test plans.
- In this role, you will also help your teams develop healthy, productive, and effective ways of working together.
Duties:
- Work with product leadership to understand the problems to be solved and infuse project goals, problem statement(s), and prioritization into the work of the team.
- Participate in user research and UX sessions, synthesizing feedback into actionable requirements and stories.
- Write user stories (requirements and acceptance criteria that ensures accessibility/a11y compliance) based on inputs from customers, sales, TPM/agile team, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous discovery exercises, including performing competitive analysis and regularly reviewing usage analytics and customer interaction data.
- Ensure quality of user stories and features before they are released.
- Prepare release notes to communicate enhancements, new features, and bugs being addressed in each release.
- Demonstrate user empathy through the prioritization of customer-reported and production issues. Manage defect triage and communication, ensuring resolutions meets SLAs.
- Work with the team to facilitate release management and communication.
- Coordinate with supporting teams to clarify and prioritize program-specific requirements.
- Facilitate cross-team meetings and communication.
- Keep the Team Healthy and On Track
- Maintain and groom the backlog with engineers, ensuring JIRA tickets are properly labeled and organized.
- Serve as scrum master, leading agile ceremonies such as standup, retro, sprint planning, grooming, etc.
- Support team members to keep work moving forward, removing blockers, and organizing time to address issues.
- Monitor the health of the team, looking for opportunities to address continuous improvement.
