Seeking a Production Supervisor in Quebec for a 2nd shift contract opportunity. The role promotes and enforces safety and housekeeping standards through the effective use of the Safety Management System.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be fluently bilingual (verbal and written) in English and French – this is a mandatory requirement.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, motivate employees, and drive team performance.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and ergonomic programs.
- Proven proficiency in team building and experience managing warehouse operations using lean principles focused on waste elimination and continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- High-level analytical skills to assess complex issues, identify alternative solutions, and implement effective resolutions; ability to exercise independent judgment is essential.
Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate departmental quality objectives, and leverage resources to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure timely shipment and efficient flow of incoming materials to minimize lead times.
- Maintain accurate records to monitor, track, and improve departmental performance.
- Train, develop, and evaluate employees to enhance skills and performance.
- Stay informed on parts distribution center performance metrics and cost reports.
- Interpret and consistently apply company policies and procedures.
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members to perform their roles effectively using standardized methods.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules, product quality requirements, and optimal personnel allocation.
- Participate in forward planning activities, maintain departmental Business Plan Deployment (BPD) boards, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of team performance.
- Work on a rotating schedule between day and afternoon shifts
- 2nd shift evenings. Could be weekend work. Once every 6 or 9 months of weekend work.
