We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a fast-paced operations and engineering team in Columbus, Ohio. This role focuses on enabling reliable, secure, and scalable software delivery through automation and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a strong automation mindset, enjoys reducing complexity, and thrives in cross‑functional collaboration.
Candidates must be willing to work onsite (can participate in the hybrid schedule).
Position Accountabilities
- Provide production and development support for online software products and internal tooling in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Ensure appropriate metrics, monitoring, and alerting are implemented for application components
- Provide automation and operational support for tooling such as Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Jenkins
- Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and reduce manual effort
- Develop new tools and automation to support evolving needs
- Partner closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver stable, scalable, and secure solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years in a DevOps position
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for professional development, both on the job and independently
- Willingness to expand skill sets and take on new responsibilities as needed
Technical Skills:
- Experience building and supporting enterprise applications with:
- Automated builds, CI pipelines, and deployments in private or public cloud environments
- Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Bash, TypeScript
- Experience architecting and operating in AWS environments using CDK, EC2, S3, ECS and VPC.
- Experience deploying and maintaining observability and logging tools such as Elasticsearch, Filebeat, and Grafana.
- Strong focus on automation and repeatable, scalable solutions
- Experience with Kubernetes and MarkLogic is a plus, but not required
